The logistics and supply chain management concepts are sometimes interchanged, but, strictly speaking, logistics relates to the goods flow from one’s own organisation to the customer, whereas supply chain management also includes the so-called “prior phase”, i.e., the flow of goods from the supplier to one’s own organisation.
Transport relates to how goods are taken from one point to another, and is therefore a constant factor in the logistics or supply chain.
