Studies
Sofie Albert graduated as a Master of Law at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in July 2009. She then pursued an additional master-after-master degree in international relations and diplomacy at the University of Antwerp. This was the year she studied at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark, academic year 2009-2010) within the context of the Erasmus programme.
Experience
She worked as a legal expert at the Foreign Trade Agency for more than two years, where she provided advice to Belgian companies on all aspects of international trade, and wrote contributions for the Royal Missions.
Sofie Albert started as an employee at ORYS in early March 2013, and moved up to partner within the firm in April 2019. She is part of the Environment and Planning Law Unit, and is thereby responsible for case files relating to urban development, the environment, spatial planning and expropriation for both the Flemish and the Brussels regulations. In addition, she also focuses on files relating to government contracts, as well as on more general construction and contracting law, and government liability.
Lecturer in vocational training for real estate agents
She has also been a lecturer in spatial planning, urban development and environmental law in the vocational training for real estate agents at Syntra Central Flanders, Asse campus, for almost 10 years. To date, she still provides training courses for SPRYG Real Estate Academy and Knops Publishing.
