Julie LAUWERS graduated in 2009 as a Master in Law at the Ghent University. During her studies she concentrated on private law (real estate) and public law.
Mid-2009 she started her apprenticeship at dePuydt-vanCauwelaert, the law firm in Brussels that merged with GD&A-advocaten in 2010. In 2012 the Brussels department of GD&A-advocaten went its own way. Julie Lauwers decided to head for a different direction and joined ORYS as a partner.
At ORYS Julie Lauwers is part of the department spatial planning and together with Thomas Ryckalts among others she is responsible for dossiers regarding urban planning and spatial planning, expropriation and environmental law. In the mean time she has acquired expertise in those domains, as well in Flemish legislation as Brussels legislations.
Together with Koen De Puydt, Julie Lauwers also handles a few large dossiers regarding construction law and technical consultancies.
She is a lecturer Spatial planning and Environmental law in the training for Real Estate agents at Syntra Brussels and Syntra AB, campus Leuven. She also participates in several publications like the Vastgoedcodex (the Codex on Real Estate).
